Plan status

The Water Sharing Plan for the NSW Murray-Darling Basin Porous Rock Groundwater Sources commenced on 16 January 2012.

This water sharing plan is due for extension/replacement in July 2022.

Community consultation

The draft plan was on public exhibition from 6 December 2010 to 31 January 2011. All submissions were considered in finalising the statutory plan, which will be in place for 10 years.

Security interests

A security interest may be a mortgage or charge and may be registered or unregistered. Security interest holders have three years from the date of plan commencement to have their interest registered against a water access licence on the Water Access Licence Register, administered by Land and Property Information.
