Water sharing plan
The Water Sharing Plan for the Murrumbidgee Regulated River Water Source is a detailed legal instrument written in its required statutory format.
Plan status
The Murrumbidgee Regulated River plan commenced on 1 July 2004 and was suspended on 10 November 2006. The plan recommenced on 16 September 2011.
Proposed amendments to this plan are on public exhibition from 26 April to 4 June 2012. More information on this is further down this page.

Description of water source
The Murrumbidgee Regulated River Water Source document (PDF 47 KB) is a description of the water source area and a definition of surface waters included in the plan area.
Implementation program
Water sharing plans are in place for 10 years, providing certainty of access for environmental health and for all licensed water users during the life of the plan. Each plan is supported by an Implementation program that allows the community to identify the strategies the NSW Office of Water will adopt, and details the milestones necessary to ensure the objectives of the plan are achieved. Any adjustments made to the plan as a result of the program's findings will recognise the limitations set within the original plan.

Proposed amendments to the Murrumbidgee Regulated River Water Sharing Plan – have your say
The proposed amendments are on public exhibition for comment from Thursday 26 April to Monday 4 June 2012. All submissions will be taken into account in finalising changes to the statutory plan.
The proposed amendments expand the Murrumbidgee Regulated River Water Source to include the Lowbidgee Flood Control and Irrigation District and include rules for managing Lowbidgee diversions which were historically diverted on the basis of a legislative power to now be recognised as a new category of supplementary water access licence within the plan.
