Water is vital for us all. Communities across NSW need safe, secure and sustainable supplies of quality water for drinking, farming, industry and residential use, and for sustaining the health or our rivers and wetlands. Drought, climate change and increasing populations present significant challenges.

The NSW Office of Water leads the NSW Government's policy agenda on water – ensuring all of NSW has sustainable water, while populations grow and conditions change. Depending on the locality in NSW, water supply and other water services are provided by a range of organisations, including state-owned corporations and local government.

For metropolitan areas of the state, information on planning and delivery of water and water services is available for the greater Sydney region and the lower Hunter region.

Information on metropolitan water pricing is available from the NSW Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal.

For non-metropolitan urban areas, information on planning and delivery of water and water services is available from the Country town water page.
