NSW Government reform
In July 2009 the NSW government issued Administrative Orders abolishing the Department of Water and Energy (DWE) and establishing two new agencies to manage the functions of the former Department.
The water responsibilities formerly in DWE are now managed by the NSW Office of Water, in the Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water. For information on water management, water licensing, urban water and real-time water data go to the website at www.water.nsw.gov.au.
The energy responsibilities formerly in DWE are now managed by the Division of Minerals and Energy within Industry & Investment NSW. For information on energy go to the website at www.industry.nsw.gov.au/energy.
